Dear Friend:

I'm not going to come down on you about your disordered life.  Goodness knows I've been where you are - or at least a place similar to where you are now.

My life was once so out of control that I used to fantasize daily about packing my bags and escaping to a secluded island, cut off from all civilization.  You've probably had similar fantasies yourself.

That's because:  You Are Overwhelmed.  You've got too much to do, and not enough of you to do it.  Right?

I won't pretend to know the burdens you carry.  For all I know you've got very unique circumstances that I couldn't possibly understand.

Maybe you work long hours and struggle to care for your family the rest of the time.  Maybe you're the primary caregiver for an elderly parent.

Or maybe you just can't seem to get control of the mess your life has become - even though it seems like it should be simple enough to do!

What I want to talk to you about is a little thing called Time Management.

The phrase itself is laughable - because you CAN'T "manage time."

Time does what time has always done - IT MARCHES ON.  It moves at the same rate day in and day out, second to second, minute to minute, hour to hour.  You can't manage it, or change it, or control it.  If you've ever tried, you know how impossible it is.

The only thing you can control is HOW YOU USE YOUR TIME.

I can almost hear you laughing at that one.  How do you control your use of time when your responsibilities far outnumber the hours in a day?

The secret to successful Time Management is learning how to manage YOURSELF.

Maybe you've tried a version of that before.  You've made lists, gotten organized, created a strict schedule to cram in every last activity and chore you have to do on a daily basis.

But just forcing yourself to adhere to such a tight schedule probably stressed you out even more!

Trying to control the EXTERNAL aspects of your life won't get you far.  Instead, you have to adjust the way you move through your life - one moment at a time.

It's an INNER SHIFT that only YOU can create.  When you change yourself on the inside, everything around you begins to fall into place too.

Why Do I Care About How You Feel?

Because I know that feeling of endless pressure, the mad dash to accomplish everything on your To-Do list - and fall short every single day.  I know that feeling of dread that comes over you when you wake up in the morning, knowing that this day is going to be a repeat of the day before, and the day before that, and the day before that . . .

It's a HELLISH cycle that you can stay locked into for YEARS.  I wouldn't wish it on anyone - not even my worst enemies.

The reason I care so much about helping you get out of this cycle is simply this:  what we do today impacts future generations.

Do we want future generations of scattered, exhausted workaholics?  Do you want YOUR children to live stressful, unfulfilling lives?  Of course not.
